From the Task Force: Working Together for a United ENDA

Over the past week, our community has united – from coast to coast, and across the heartland — as never before.
In response to announcements that Congressional leaders intended to strip protections for gender identity from ENDA, an unprecedented campaign made up of national, state, and local groups swung into action.

Good News (Hate Crime Bill), Bad News (ENDA, again)

Good news: Matthew Shepherd Act (Federal Hate Crime Bill) passed the Senate Floor by a 60-39 margin and is on its way to President Bush’s desk.

Bad news: Bush has vowed to veto the bill.
Worst news: Leaders of the House may strip gender identity from ENDA.
