From Cecilia Chung...
Welcome! My name is Cecilia Chung and I live in San Francisco, California. If you are looking for Cecilia Cheung, the Chinese actress, then you have come to the wrong site. If you are from the media and is looking specifically for information about me, please note that the spelling of my name is C-e-c-i-l-i-a and not Cecelia.
Cecilia - What's in a name?
If you are curious about the origin of my name, here's it's history. Cecilia is the feminine form of Caecilius or Cecil, which was derived from Latin caecus which means "blind". St Cecilia is the patron saint of music and the Celtic name, Sissy, was derived from Cecilia.
Why did I pick the name Cecilia? My first choice was the name Cordelia which often believed to be the feminine form of coeur de lion since I am a Leo. I used to see my relationship with my father like the one shared by Cordelia and King Lear. But as I journeyed into womanhood, I realize in fact that I was the one who's blind and not able to understand and appreciate my father's way of loving his children.
So there you have it. Thanks again for visiting.
The Magical 07-07-07

Today is the day that many have predicted as magical and life changing. Folks who are into numerology and other metaphysical practices can probably enlighten us with all the magical connotations of 07/07/07. No one knows if today is the “end of age” prophesied by the ancients but we do know it’s the mark of a new movement - as “Live Earth” events take place around the globe.
Speaker Nacy Pelosi sent out an email to remind us all to help protect our climate and here are the five things we can all do.
The average American generates about 15,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year from home energy use and personal transportation and from the energy it takes to produce the products and services we consume. There are steps we can take to reduce our carbon footprint and to keep our earth healthy. But we all must do our part. As people gather across the globe for July 7th’s “Live Earth” events, here are 5 steps you can take to help protect the earth and reduce global warming:
- Replace your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. Compact fluorescent bulbs produce as much light as regular incandescent light bulbs, but last 10 times as long and use just a quarter of the energy.
- Turn off lights and appliances when you’re not using them. This not only helps the planet, but will save money on your electric bills
- Reduce what you consume, reuse what you use, and recycle the rest. Producing new products from recycled materials saves 70 to 90 percent of the energy and pollution that would result if the product came from non-recycled materials. You can save a good-sized tree by recycling a stack of newspapers only 4 feet high!
- Turn your heat down 2 degrees in the winter and your air conditioning up 2 degrees in the summer. This simple step could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
- Cut down on the number of miles you drive each day by carpooling, walking, biking, or taking public transportation. Driving just 10 miles less each week would eliminate about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year!
Here’s to a magical day ![]()
Michael Moore Presents: SiCKO
Posted by Cecilia Chung
SiCKO by Michael Moore, is a film about the health care industry. SiCKO will be premiered in 49 cities THIS SATURDAY. The film highlights the advantages of a single-payer universal health care system.
The distribution of the film next Friday will depend on the numbers they see on Saturday. Below is the link to the web site and a listing of the theaters. Can you help us get the word out and pack each theater NATIONALLY? Please distribute widely asking people to go even if they suspect they won’t get in or will have to stand in line.
The distribution company is looking at a very limited release of the film because they don’t know if people will see a film about health care. Let’s show them that SiCKO will be THE film of the summer and that health reform matters to people.
Besides, what better way are there to take a break from all the Pride activities in San Francisco ![]()
